Your position and role at Powell UMC; What are you passionate about? I am the Associate Pastor here at Powell UMC. I am passionate about accompanying God’s people through the joy and struggles of our faith journey.

What is the favorite part of your job? I enjoy leading our congregation as we join with God in mission bringing healing, hope, and love to our neighbors in our community and around the world.

Family: My husband Tyler and I have been married since 2008. We have two elementary-aged children – Lily
and Owen.

Where are you from? I grew up in Ashland, Ohio. Our family spent more than a decade living in the Washington D.C. area where I attended Wesley Theological Seminary. A new job opportunity brought us back to Ohio in 2019 and we settled here in Powell.

Ministry background, degrees, credentials: I have served in various ministry areas, including Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Membership Engagement since 2003. I began my first appointment as a pastor here at Powell in 2023. I received a BA from Bluffton University in Youth Ministry and Psychology. I graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary with a Master of Theological Studies (2012) and from Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master of Divinity (2023).

What are your hobbies? Our family enjoys visiting the National Parks. Acadia, Yellowstone, and Zion have been a few of our favorites. I also enjoy running, reading, and spending time with my family.

Your favorite quote or verse from the Bible: Mark 12:28-31 ‘Which commandment is the first of all?’ Jesus answered, ‘The first is, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” The second is this, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.’

What has God been teaching you lately? The beauty of the community of faith is in the ways that we care for one another.
