Co-Director of Cherub Choir

Your position and role at Powell UMC; What are you passionate about? I serve as a co-director of the CherubChoir.

What is the favorite part of your job? Sharing music and Jesus with kids.

Where are you from? I have been on the Columbus area since the 80’s after living in multiple states due to new job opportunities.

Background, degrees: I have a BA in Elementary Education. Music has always been a part of my life. I have participated in multiple music groups ( various bands, choir and bells) throughout my years. I have been in the education field for over 30+ in various roles with different age groups. This is a fun way to meet the children and families here at Powell UMC and share my love of music and Jesus with the Powell UMC community.

What are your hobbies? I enjoy reading, baking, trying new recipes and restaurants, playing games and traveling/ discovering our beautiful world. My husband and I also enjoy concerts and the numerous performing arts opportunities. I also keep active walking our dog Scarlet and playing pickle ball.

Your favorite quote or verse from the Bible: God has laid these verses on my heart at this time. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “ Never stop praying ”, Matthew 4:4 “ But Jesus told him, “ No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” and John 15:5 NLT “Yes, I am the vine; and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

What has God been teaching you lately? As my husband and I continue to adjust to life in Powell, God sees me and has not forgotten me. Life is better with God and community, especially when the timing is right and you are plugged into situations / places where you can give, serve, grow and live abundantly.
